Egypt's Health Ministry reported five deaths and 22 injuries nationwide on the fourth anniversary of the January 2011 uprising which toppled the regime of former President Hosni Mubarak.
Khaled al-Khatib, head of the health ministry's critical care unit, told Aswat Masriya that two were killed in Cairo's Matariya neighbourhood.
Another two "terrorists" were killed in Beheira when an explosive device they were planting below an electric pylon exploded, the ministry of interior said earlier on Sunday.
The ministry also reported the death of a pro-Muslim Brotherhood protester in Alexandria.
The ministry of interior said in a statement that the deceased protester was armed, alongside another protester, and that both were "randomly shooting to terrorise residents". It added that they injured a resident as a result.
An additional sixth death was reported by state-run news agency MENA, which said that the injured resident died as result of his wound. The Health Ministry, however, has not reported the death.
Mursi's banned Muslim Brotherhood has been rallying for protests nationwide to commemorate the anniversary. A 17-year old girl was killed during a Brotherhood protest in Alexandria on Friday.
