An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck Cairo and different governorates Saturday afternoon, said Mohamed el-Gabry, a professor at National Research Institute of Astronomy & Geophysics (NRIAG.) Gabry told Youm7 that the epicenter of the tremor is the Gulf of Aqaba.
It was recorded at a depth of 30 Kilometers.
Following the tremor, Twitter users reported that they felt the earthquake across Jordan, Gaza, Israel and northern Saudi Arabia as well.
