Four people were killed and 16 injured in a crash on Friday suspected to have been caused by drug abuse, involving the deputy governor of Cairo's secretary.
New Cairo prosecution ordered the detention of the secretary and a driver, who are to be medically examined over suspicions of drug driving.
Preliminary investigations showed that a car belonging to governorate authorities collided with a bus on the Cairo-Ismailia road, causing the death of three children and a church worker, and injuring 16 others.
Investigations indicate that the car, being driven by the secretary, did not make room for the bus to pass and caused the bus driver to lose control and overturn the vehicle.
Prosecution has given permission for the dead victims to be buried.
