EgyptAir resumes flights to Istanbul following attempted Turkish coup

State airline EgyptAir resumed flights on Sunday to Istanbul, the company said in a statement, following a one-day halt after an overnight coup attempt in Turkey.

Flight MS737 took off at 10:37 this morning heading to Ataturk international airport, the second flight MS735 is due at 14:20 afternoon to the same destination.

On Saturday the company announced the suspension of flights to Turkey until further notice, saying: "In light of recent events in Turkey yesterday evening, and the subsequent instability at Ataturk international airport, EgyptAir has decided to cancel its flights to Istanbul, MS737 and MS735," reported Reuters.
