Egypt’s National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) discussed the sectarian tensions witnessed in Minya’s village during its meeting held on Thursday.
The council said, in a press statement, that it discussed the preliminary results concluded by the fact-finding mission formed by the council to follow the developments on the ground.
The council monitored a steady increase in the sectarian incidents in specific areas in the country during the recent period whether for differences over the building of worship places or even social clashes, saying the average number of these incidents reached to 10 on monthly basis in some of these areas.
The council decided to prepare a detailed memorandum with the results concluded by the fact-finding mission to be referred to Egypt’s president and other competent authorities
