Father Raphael, priest of St. George's Church in Kom Ombo, said that Copts and Muslims in the village had hardly prevented a sectarian strife.
He added that two women were fighting and a Christian policeman intervened and people claimed he hit the Muslim woman.
Police arrested they young Coptic man pending investigation in order to prevent escalation.
