A plot to assassinate Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi was the major reason for the decision to cancel the presidential participation in the Arab Summit scheduled to be held in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott, sources revealed to Youm7.
According to the unidentified sources, it is not the first time for the Egyptian authorities to undermine such plots, as a number of terrorist groups attempted before to assassinate the Egyptian president in retaliation for his position supporting the Egyptian people.
President Sisi was scheduled to attend the Arab Summit in Nouakchott, while surprisingly the presidency authorized Prime Minister Sherif Ismail to lead the Egyptian delegation during the summit.
