The Coptic Church and its clerics performed an important role to save Egypt from the sedition, said President of parliament’s Religious Committee Osama Al-Abd on Monday.
He added, during the meeting between Pope Tawadros II and the committee’s members, “We need cooperation to confront the attempts aiming to raise the sectarian tensions. We will never abandon this objective to eliminate the seditions threatening the country.”
“President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi launched consecutive calls to reform the religious speech,” said the Egyptian parliamentarian addressing the Patriarch, adding, “We came to hear you view point over the ways to develop the religious speech.”
