Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a Coptic delegation, headed by Pope Tawadros II, in Heliopolis’ presidential palace on Thursday, Youm7 reported.
The Coptic delegation included Archbishop Hedra of Aswan, Bishop Paula of Tanta, Bishop Lukas of Abnob, Secretary of Coptic Church’s Holy Synod, Bishop Raphael, Bishop Makarios of Minya, and Bishop Bemen of Naqada.
The meeting, which is being conducted now, is expected to discuss the recent sectarian incidents witnessed in Upper Egypt’s Minya province and the ways to contain them in addition to the churches building law scheduled to be discussed by the parliament during the current parliamentary round.
