A number of Coptic Diaspora has protested outside U.S. white House, against violence practices against Coptic Christians in Upper Egypt’s Minya, Youm7 reported. Their protest is an act of defiance against Pope Tawadros II, who called for not staging any protests.
Several sectarian violence-triggered incidents have occurred in Minya during the past few months. Houses of Christian residents of village of Abu Yacoub were set on fire by the defendants following a rumor of turning a nursery into a church.
In May, Christian houses were set ablaze and a woman was paraded naked through the streets following rumors of an affair between the son of the elderly woman and a Muslim woman.
