Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Saturday with South Sudanese first Vice President Taban Deng Gai and discussed latest developments in the security situation in Juba, Youm7 reported.
South Sudan and means of solving the crisis
During the meeting, Shoukry said Egypt is closely following up with the political and security situation in South Sudan and expressed his country’s full support for stability and peace in the African state, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid was quoted by Youm7 on Saturday.
“Egypt will continue to play its role through the current membership in both the Security Council and the Peace and Security Council of the African Union’s in support of Southern Sudan by all means,” said Shoukry.
The meeting was also attended by the South Sudanese ministers of foreign affairs and defense.
