Egypt’s agricultural imports to Jordan Media reports about Egyptian agricultural products groundless — Jordanian official
Media reports about Egyptian agricultural products on Jordanian markets are “baseless and bare of truth,” Jordanian Agriculture Ministry Spokesman Nemr Haddaden was quoted by Youm7 on Wednesday.
The remarks came during a joint press conference with the Egyptian Ambassador to Amman Tarek Adel.
The conference was held to reject media reports claiming some of Egypt’s agricultural exports to Jordan are contaminated with Hepatitis A.
“All tests conducted by the concerned Jordanian authorities indicated the safety of all Jordan’s agricultural imports from Egypt,” said Haddaden.
He pointed out that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not issued any decisions imposing a ban on Egyptian exports of agricultural and food products.
