Mubarak's sons detained for 2 weeks

CAIRO (Updated 4) - Egyptian ex-president Hosni Mubarak's sons Gamal and Alaa arrived Wednesday at a Cairo prison where they will be detained for 15 days on suspicion of involvement in killing protesters and corruption, police said.

They are accused of incitement to fire at demonstrators during the revolution that lasted from January 25 till February 11 when their father reluctantly stepped down. Nearly 800 people died during the uprising.
The two arrived in the notorious Tora prison to join an increasing crowd of former regime ministers and officials who have either been remanded for questioning or jailed as their trials went on.
The official MENA news agency said Gamal, once seen as the anointed heir, and his elder brother Alaa were registered in the roster and handed white prison uniforms after surrendering their mobile phones.
They turned down breakfast, but asked for bottles of water, the agency reported, adding that the two brothers, who just months ago were among the country's most powerful people, appeared in shock.
They each received a mattress and two blankets.
