Egypt s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is travelling on Tuesday to Ethiopia s capital Addis Ababa to participate in the 11th Extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU), which will discuss institutional and financial reform of the union, a statement by the foreign ministry read.

In an official statement, Egypt s foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said Shoukry will attend the 20th Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council on 14 - 15 November and the 11th Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union on 17 - 18 November.
According to Hafez, the extraordinary session will revolve around updates on the AU Institutional Reform process including reform of the AU Commission, which began in the Kigali Summit in July 2016; where the AU mandated the Rwandan president with the mission of reform.
The summits will also discuss the mandate of the AU Development Agency (AUDA) and the Financing of the African Union.
The Egyptian foreign minister will hold several bilateral talks on the sidelines of the summits with a number of African counterparts, according to the spokesman.
