Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi performed Eid Al-Fitr prayers at the Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi Mosque on Wednesday.
The president then headed to Al-Manara International Conferences Centre in Cairo s Fifth Settlement suburb to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr with the children of army and police personnel who were killed on duty.
El-Sisi accompanied the children to a play area that was set up for kids during the Eid celebration.
He also shook hands with a number of actors taking part in the event, including Mohamed Heneidi, Ahmed Fahmy and Karim Abdel-Aziz.
A troupe from the Galhoum Gymnastics Academy performed a show during the celebration, and pop star Tamer Hosny participated in the event and sang a number of children s and national songs.
This is the second consecutive year for El-Sisi to celebrate Eid with the children of martyrs.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel-Aal, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki and Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq also attended the celebration.
