A senior church source said in a special statement to the Copts United Electronic newspaper that the personal status law was not discussed during the current sessions of the Holy Synod.
The law was already discussed in previous sessions and was approved by the Coptic Orthodox Church. Only few points are still in debate and will be sent to the government after they are agreed upon.
