Bishop Lucas, Bishop of Abnoub, denounced the escalating phenomenon of kidnapping the Copts in Upper Egypt, especially in the province of Qena.
He added that the last Copt who was kidnapping, was killed and the criminals were named unknown.
The Bishop said that the increasing cases of kidnapping come as police are preoccupied with the inflamed political conditions, and demanded more security measures to prevent such repeated crimes.
