CAIRO - More than 20 Egyptian political parties and groups, mainly the leftists, Sunday mark the May Day weeks after the ouster of long-standing Hosni Mubarak. A massive-scale celebration is planned in Al Tahrir Square, the iconic plaza for the anti-Mubarak protests.
The celebration will feature a mock trial of a questionable privatisation programme pursued under Mubarak, who was toppled last February in a popular revolt. The participants in the May Day gathering are expected to push for the implementation of a minium wage level promised by the incumbent Government.
