Arab states should take a firm stance in rejecting any foreign intervention in their domestic affairs, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said in his speech at the Arab League Summit on Wednesday.

At least 11 people were killed and 33 injured in an explosion at Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Alexandria on Sunday, Ministry of Health spokesperson Khaled Megahed reported. The explosion occurred a few minutes after the departure of Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II from the church. Media outlets reported that the head of the investigation bureau of Al-Attarin district was among the dead.

Daqahlia prosecutors started investigation into a claim filed by a young man accusing an illegal currency trader of abducting and of torturing him using a whip and hot coals to force him to confess to stealing $3 million from a property owned by the defendant in Gamsa area. The family of the young man named Mohamed Gamal al-Bakry, 30, filed a claim with Belqas Police Station accusing a currency trader and others of abducting the victim and torturing him. The victim was transferred to Belqas General Hospital to receive medical treatment for his injuries.

Lawyer Khaled Ali filed a lawsuit at the Administrative Court against a ruling by the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters that had overturned a verdict that included annulling the Egyptian-Saudi maritime demarcation agreement. The court ruling was issued on Sunday, thereby continuing the activation of the agreement seeking the transfer of the Tiran and Sanafir islands to Saudi Arabia.

At least 16 people, including 13 police conscripts, were injured in a bomb blast in the Egyptian Nile Delta city of Tanta in the vicinity of a police training centre, the interior ministry said on Saturday. "The bomb was planted in a motorcycle parked near the centre and the area has been cordoned off and is being combed by security forces," the ministry said in a statement. A health ministry official in Tanta said all the injured are receiving treatment in hospital, including three civilians.
