For the second time, the Minya Criminal Court decided to refer the case of Soaad Thabet, known as the lady of Karm village who was stripped and dragged along the streets of the Egyptian city of Minya. The judge decided to follow his precedent and decided to step down from the case and return it to Beni Suef court to assign it to another court.

After 6 months of closure on Fridays due to the spread of Corona virus, Egyptian mosques and churches will return to open their doors for prayers tomorrow while taking all precautionary measures. A limited fire has in the Church of Archangel Michael in Nag Hammadi after a fire broke out in some of the coffins prepared for funerals in case of deaths. A church source said that the fire probably started with a candle, as some servants were carrying out the cleaning process of the church, but the fire was controlled without any losses in the church or casualties

The evangelical community in Egypt, headed by Dr. Reverend Andrea Zaki, expressed its shock and deep sadness over the huge explosion that rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, leaving behind great destruction and hundreds of victims. The President of the Evangelical community said: We share the feelings of pain with the Lebanese people, and we stand in solidarity with them in this humanitarian catastrophe, and we pray to God to grant condolences and patience to the families of the victims and the speedy recovery of the injured.

Rania Abdel-Masih and her family celebrated with His Eminence Bishop Benjamin of Menoufia, the 44th anniversary of his enthronement at the headquarters of the diocese in Shebin El-Koum. Rania was kidnapped and forced to announce her conversion into Islam, before she could escape and return to her family.

The Criminal Court of Minya is going to issue its final verdict in the case of Lady of Karm village on August 24. The old lady Soaad Thabet was stripped nude and dragged in the streets of the village after rumors about romantic relationship between her son and a Muslim woman. Dr. Ihab Ramzi, head of the defense team in the three cases, said that the cases have been postponed for several years for no good reason.

The Monastery of St. Maqar in Wadil Natroun celebrated the second anniversary of Bishop Epiphanius who was killed in the monastery. Two monks were accused of murdering the bishop and one of them was sentenced to death penalty and the other received life sentence.

Churches of Tima reopened today after 4 month of closure due to the spread of Corona virus. Bishop Isaac of Tima said that only 50 people are able to attend each Holy Mass in the grand churches, and 25 in the chapels, and everybody have to follow the rules of social distancing and wearing masks.

The ceremony was attended by several officials and thinkers who came to congratulate the congregation on the inauguration.

After three months of disappearance, the Coptic woman Rania Abdel-Messiah returned Yesterday to her family. She appeared happy with her family that denied all rumors about her conversion into Islam and thanked Bishop Benyamin of Menofia for supporting them during the crisis.

The disappeared Coptic woman Rania Abdel-Messih returned today to her village of Ashmoun Center in Menoufia. The church said Rania is Christian and was not converted into Islam as announced earlier.

The disappeared Coptic girl Marina Anwar, 17 years old, returned saft today to her home in the village of El-Kosheh in Sohag. Marina returned 5 days after her disappearance, and the church thanked police for doing their best to return the girl in record time.

Father Paul Halim, spokesman of the Coptic Church, said that Pope Tawadros is fine and is holding meetings with the bishops is part of his daily routine. He added that Pope’s call to pray for him came as part of a spiritual exercise during the fasting of the Apostles.
