TALKHA (Egypt)- Scores of Egyptian anti-riot policemen were Saturday depolyed in the Nile Delta town of Talkha as members of a pro-reform group started their meeting. Clashes erupted between the police and several people who wanted to attend the meeting arranged by the National Coalition for Change set up by Mohamed ElBaradei, the former chief of the UN nuclear watchdog.
ElBaradei, who has infused fresh vigour in Egypt's political scener since his homecoming last February, did not attend Saturday's gathering. He is currently on an overseas trip.
Members from the group attende and urged the audience to join their high-profile campaign for change in Egypt.
