Injury update on key Ahly players Hegazy, Ali, El-Sulaya

Medical scans have shown that Ahly defender Ahmed Hagazy will be out of action for two to three weeks while winger Bassem Ali will miss training for ten days, the club's doctor announced on Sunday.

"Hegazy needs two to three weeks to recover from a muscle injury he is suffering from," Ahly's doctor Khaled Mahmoud told reporters.

Defender Ahmed Hegazy was replaced at the 66th minute mark during the team's 1-0 win over Morocco's Wydad in the CAF Champions League last Wednesday.

Central midfielder Amr El-Sulaya was also substituted in the first half of the Morocco's game and his replacement, Bassem Ali, was also taken off after the break.

"Bassem Ali will also be out of action for ten days as he is suffering from a muscle problem," the doctor added.

"El-Sulaya will join the team's trainings after Monday's game against Smouha in the Egypt Cup."

Ahly are set to face Smouha in the Egypt Cup quarterfinals on Monday with the winner to face ENPPI in the semifinal.
