In its meeting today, Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church amended Article 56 of its regulation to allow the acting patriarch to ordain bishops in case the papal throne was vacant for more than three years, and with the approval of 80% of the Holy Synod.
It also issued 11 decisions to organize the work of the Church and its priests, as well as decision to register appearances of the holy virgin Mary in Egypt.
