Baradei coalition to boycott polls

CAIRO - An opposition coalition led by potential presidential candidate Mohamed ElBaradei has agreed to boycott Egypt's parliamentary elections due in November.

The National Coalition for Change, spearheaded by ElBaradei, the former chairman of the UN atomic watchdog, said their boycott was due to a lack of guarantees for fair and free elections.

They added in a statement that they would continue to collect signatures from the public to pressure the Government of President Hosni Mubarak to introduce massive constiutional changes.
