Tunisia have granted permission to Zamalek right-back Hamdi Nagguez and central midfielder Ferjani Sassi to stay with the Cairo club for Sunday s Egypt Cup final despite being called up by their national team for two friendlies this month. In a brief statement on its Facebook page, the Tunisian Football Federation said it had accepted a request from Zamalek to have the influential players available for Sunday s clash against Pyramids FC. Tunisia will now face Mauritania and Cote d voire in two friendly matches without Sassi and Nagguez. Both players are key to Zamalek s chances of winning their second trophy of the season after they clinched the African Confederation Cup title. Sassi has quickly become a fan favourite following his arrival at Zamalek from Saudi side Al Nassr in the summer of 2018, thanks to his defence-splitting passes and neat distribution of the ball. Nagguez, who joined Zamalek from Tunisia s Etoile Sahel in January 2018, is also one of the team s key men, with his inviting crosses from the right providing many assists. Pyramids FC French coach Sebastien Desabre said he believes that his team has an equal chances with rivals Zamalek to win Egypt Cup title. The two teams will meet on Sunday in Egypt s secondary domestic competition final. "I am happy to face Zamalek and also with meeting Ahly in the round of 16. We respect both teams," the French tactician Desabre, who took charge of Pyramids FC earlier in July, told ON Sport TV channel on Monday night. Egyptian Football Association announced on Thursday that the semifinal games of Egypt Cup will start on Sunday, as Zamalek meets Ittihad while Petrojet await the winner from Pyramdis FC s match against Haras El-Hodoud. Tunisia s Etoile Sportive du Sahel have announced that they have reached an agreement with Egypt s Ahly regarding their AWOL striker Souleymane Coulibaly, without revealing any details. "We have reached an initial agreement with Ahly regarding Souleymane Coulibaly, and we are waiting to continue the legal procedures," read a statement on the club s official Facebook page on Tuesday. In June 2017, Ahly lodged a complaint with FIFA against Coulibaly due to his unauthorised absence, which ended with fining the player $1.436 million. The Tunisian giants are facing an obstacle in signing the Ivorian striker, as Ahly are still owed $450,000 from Coulibaly. The 24-year-old Coulibaly had missed Ahly s training session in May 2017, leaving only a message saying he had flown to London for private reasons. He later said he sought to terminate his contract with Ahly, a request that was rejected by the Cairo giants. Contracting a new coach for the national football team has been established as a priority, according to Amr El-Ganainy, head of the normalisation committee at the Egyptian Football Association (EFA). Champions League winners Liverpool won the Super Cup 5-4 on penalties against Chelsea after the game ended 2-2 following extra-time on Wednesday. With the first nine penalties all converted, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham saw his effort blocked by the legs of Liverpool keeper Adrian to hand victory to Juergen Klopp s side. Chelsea went ahead in the 36th minute when N Golo Kante drove from midfield and found Christian Pulisic, who turned inside and delivered the perfect through ball for Olivier Giroud to confidently slot home. Zamalek finalised an agreement with a foreign coach, said club president Mortada Mansour on Wednesday at a press conference. The coach s name would be revealed on Sunday, he added. "The new coach will arrive in Cairo next Sunday after the match against Dekedaha. We unanimously agreed on the assistant staff," Mansour said. The Zamalek chairman decided not to reveal the new coach s name, he said, because he didn t want competing clubs to establish contact with the new coach lest they try to talk him out of the Zamalek deal. The Whites ended second in the last season of the Egyptian Premier League, and won the African Football s Confederation Cup. Mansour sacked the club s Swiss coach Christian Gross, nevertheless, blaming him for losing the league title. As expected, Ahly dominated the early proceedings and they went ahead via a precise spot-kick from Maaloul after central midfielder Amr El-Sulaya was fouled in the area. Azaro almost scored a beauty a few minutes later but his brilliant overhead kick struck the crossbar. He made amends on 32 minutes with an easy tap-in after some good work from winger Hussein El-Shahat down the right flank. Azaro, who is often criticised by Ahly s faithful for his wastefulness, squandered some easy chances, including hitting the ball wide with the goal at his mercy. Zamalek s new coach will be unveiled on Tuesday, the club president has said, adding that the club is considering six candidates, including a second term for Jesualdo Ferreira of Portugal. "We settled on six candidates...All the candidates are top level coaches," Mansour said in a video published in his Facebook page on Saturday. "The last negotiations were with the club s former coach [Jesualdo] Ferreira who welcomed taking the charge but starting from next October for personal reasons. "The choosing of the new coach will be on Tuesday. I invited all the club s icons to attend a meeting with the board members to discuss the selection and choose the coach," Mansour said. "We reached agreement with all of the six candidates who all know the value of Zamalek. When the board and the icons settle on the name we will announce it immediately and he will be starting his mission in just two days," he added. Former Zamalek star Tarek Yehia was made caretaker coach until a new coach is appointed. Ferreira, 73, became a fan favourite after guiding the team to their first league title first since 2004, and following that with a Cup victory. He resigned seven months into his term, in November 2015, after a reported dispute with Mansour. Recent reports claim that Zamalek have already reached an agreement with Argentinean coach Ramon Diaz, who delivered outstanding results last season with Egyptian club Pyramids FC. "Diaz is among the six candidates and the final decision will be made at Tuesday s meeting," Mansour concluded. Zamalek finished second in the Egyptian Premier League this season, and won the continental-level Confederation Cup. The White Knights still have the chance to fight for more titles, the Egypt Cup and the CAF Super Cup, in addition to last season s edition of the Egypt Super Cup.

Zamalek has had their request approved to postpone the team s first match in the African Champions League against Somalia s Dekadaha from 11 to 16 August, according to local reports published on Thursday. The Whites have requested earlier to play their match against the Somali champions at Petrosport stadium, but was refused by the security authorities since the game coincides with the first day of Eid Al-Adha holiday. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to play the first and second leg matches between Zamalek and Dekadaha in Egypt, upon the Somali club request. Zamalek officials were reportedly contacted by Dekadaha s officials to postpone the match for a week, which the Somali club welcomed. The second-leg match is scheduled to be held on 23, 24, or 25 August. CAF Confederation Cup champions Zamalek were supposed to play the CAF Super Cup game on 16, 17, or 18 August against the winner of the African Champions League, but the match was postponed to a later date by CAF.
