Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced that the United Nations General Assembly has adopted an Egyptian resolution on sexual abuse, according to a press statement released by the MOFA on Saturday. MOFA said that the main aim of the resolution, titled “Sexual abuse and exploitation: Implementing zero-tolerance policy” aims to prevent all kinds of sexual exploitation utilizing the United Nation system, including agencies, funds and programs.

A joint expedition between the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities have discovered more than 800 tombs in Lisht village, southern Egypt dating back to 4000 years BC. According to the Ministry of Antiquities in a Facebook post, the tombs have a specific architectural style and were carved into rock, surrounded by brick and limestone.

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) received a collection of 71 artefacts today from Al-Bahnasa archaeological site in the Minya governorate in Upper Egypt. Tarek Tawfiq, GEM Supervisor General, told Ahram Online that the collection includes several important ancient Egyptian pieces, such as the beautiful Nes-Ptah s sarcophagus with an anthropoid lid. Ninety elephant carcasses have been discovered in Botswana with their tusks hacked off, a charity said Tuesday, in what is believed to be one of Africa s worst mass poaching sprees. More than 300 endangered sea turtles were found dead near the southern coast of Mexico, the country s environmental officials said.
