Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese will meet with Singapore’s President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Wednesday to discuss the bilateral relations, Ahram stated.
Tony Tan has met with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and held a press conference due to be held at the Cairo-based Presidential Palace of Ittihadyia after the bilateral summit, according to a statement from Egyptian Presidential Office on Sunday.
President Tony Tan Keng Yam also met with Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb at the Azhar Sheikhdom headquarters to tackle the cooperation between his country and the Sunni Islamic institution.
Tony Tan’s five-day visit comes in the light of the 50th anniversary of Singapore–Egypt bilateral relations.
