They are young people who did not find a decent way to earn their living in their homeland, which suffers from many political, economic and social problems. So, they have decided to find a better way of living that they dream about. Suddenly, they wake up to find themselves arrested by the Coast Guards, or even attcked by the waves of death in the middle of the sea.
They escape from their miserable life in their country where they can't afford their living, with the poor policies of their governments that issued laws that caused hundreds of thousands of workers to be displaced, and many young people to lose their work and their future as well.
The inevitable result of such policies of the successive governments was long queues of unemployed people all over Egypt. Thus, illegal travelling and immigration brokers and offices appeared. They charge each young man for a big amount of money in order to help him travel, and stack a large number of those young people in old and dilapidated boats, and the end of the journy is mostly death or prison and deportation.
Young people have many montivations to think about illegal immigration, which they are not to blame for them, as hard circumstances are, at many times, much stronger than reasoning. Therefore, I demand the government, specifically the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration, to prepare a plan that takes into consideration security, law, society and media to face illegal immigration. It should start with offering urgent subsidies for the families of those victims of illegal immigration. Afterwards, Ministry of insurance should perform a social research for those missing and give their families an exceptional pension in case this is the only breadwinner in order to save them of loss or displacement. Then, the State Department has to make comprehensive inventory of the Egyptians who are detained in the Italian prisons and demand the Italian authorities to immediately release all detainees. It should also send a delegation includes a number of those families of the missing people to visit the Italian prisons, that they might find their sons. Also, the Egyptian prisoners in Italy should be allowed to contact their families regularly to reassure thier parents that are still alive.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Manpower and Immigration in coordination with the concerned ministries and agencies should be working on preparing the required and appropriate labor to the European market after studying the requirements of the European countries and apply the agreements between Egypt and the countries of the European Union.
Finally, I want to say that our government has to work hard in order to maintain the remaining Egyptian young poeple who didn't take the decision to immigrate illegally yet.
