The church was thrilled after choosing Pope Tawadros II, as all Copts have felt that it was the choice of the Holy Spirit.
Pope Tawadros came with a new vision to serve the Coptic Christians all over the world. He will also have to face many problems of the Coptic Christians in Egypt supported by our Lord Jesus Christ.
His Holiness said that he is a disciple of the late Pope Shenouda III and Pope Kyrolous VI as well, and he came to lead the Coptic church at a very critical moment, especially with the great achievements of the Church in spite of the great prosecution that she has suffered from including burning and seizing many churches.
There is no doubt that the pope who was chosen by the altar ballot carries a message from heaven to the erupted earth.
The world has to listen to the Pope's message, which is basically the message of Jesus Christ.
The most important characteristic of the new pope is being so popular and so modest. He meets with his people everywhere, at any place and under any circumstances. He has been working in the villages of al-Behira. Thus, he's able to work with any kind of people; poor and rich, pious and evil, well-educated and ignorant. Furthermore, he doesn't categorize the people before dealing with them as he works spontaneously and honestly with all love in order to carry out the plan of Christ in Egypt.
He reminds me of Christ when He visited Egypt which proves he's his successor in leading his church. Many people expected other candidates to be the pope, but God had another plan for His Church.
Everybody was looking for his own preferences in a new pope, but God had a different plan, which He has started working on it for 60 years when Pope Tawadros was born. In spite of all sacrifices, prosecution and bloodshed, there was a superior goal which is the glory of Christ in Egypt and all over the world by choosing H.H. Pope Tawadros II.
