A formal contracting company recommended to change the route of the new high way passing by Wadi Rayan monastery since the current project will cross rocky hills and archaeological caves, which are difficult to destroy and will cost a lot of money.
Naguib Gabriel, head of the Egyptian Union for Human Rights, said that the Committee considered the public interest and recommended changing the path away from the monastery, which will solve the current crisis.
