Copts of Naga Shenouda in Sohag celebrated  Easter in the open

After their attempts to build a church for 44 years have faild, Copts of Nag Shenouda n Sohag had to celebrate Easter in the open.After their attempts to build a church for 44 years have faild, Copts of Nag Shenouda n Sohag had to celebrate Easter in the open.

However the due permits were obtained, fanatics of the village refused to build the church, and even burned the tents that were used to cover the people while praying in the open.
 
An eye witness said they applied for the church in 1971, and couldn’t get all the due permits including the approval of the fanatics!
 
The people used to pray in an old house that had to be removed before it falls on the people. However, they were prevented from reconstructing the roof or even covering it with plastic to protect them from rain!
 
It’s worth mentioning that the Copts donated a piece of land to build a mosque in order to be allowed to build the church. Soon, the mosque was built, but the Copts were preventing from building the church by fanatics and police.
