The Parliamentary elections are at hand, and the Islamic currents are planning and working hard to incite sectarian strife. Since the crisis of Camellia Shehata and Wafaa Constantine, disappearances of Christian women happened on daily basis. Many people talk about their stories in the talk shows before they forget about them to be occupied with the next story, and so on. In the account of Jabal al-Tir, the lady disappeared and many Copts demonstrated demanding her return before they clashed with police and police attack their homes and demolish their household. This happened at the time the Copts in America were planning to support president al-Sisi in the United States.
Mr. President, Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Egyptian armed forces. Your Excellency on October 21 have inaugurated new units added to the Egyptian Navy, in order to add power to defend our country. However, during the celebration, you have broken the constitution and citizenship rules by handing the holy Quran to the leaders of the new units with the Egyptian flag. This religious touch to our navy came against the equal citizenship of all Egyptian citizens including the Coptic Christians.
Is there terrorism in Egypt? Since when? Does Egypt export or import terrorism? Is Egypt fighting terrorism seriously? Is there somebody to answer such questions? Let me try to answer them starting from the seventies of the last century when I was introduced to politics that drove me crazy and will drive you the same. Terrorism in Egypt started at the seventies of the last century and at higher rates than any other country. Almost every week we heared about a terrorist attack. Only Iraq, Syria and Yemen exceled Egypt later. Terrorism against the Copts comes under the auspices of the state.
This article is not a continuation of targeting the Coptic church as many people may think. It's rather a continuation to shed light on some mistakes committed by some of our spiritual leaders who don't seek the due advise by specialized consultants who are many among our Coptic people.
In a series of History articles I published over the past months some lessons extracted from that recent history, today I take a deeper look in to older history! At school in school days the teacher of history would teach us geography as well in this geography I learned that Middle East was the following countries, west to east:- But over the years those 13 countries expanded to include Bahrain, Emirates and Qatar, then more African countries -non speaking Arabic- were included however this is not the point, but the point is this important the important thing was this historical event upon the the first World War or WWI!
Here’s the problem in Egypt now: the electricity cut? Protest!!!!! You don’t like your schedule in the university and want an excuse to delay your studies? To Tahrir!!!! You think your wife cooked you bad meat? Gather the protestors and paint the signs!!! It doesn’t work like this. We can’t protest without trying to fix the problem with a mutual discussion first. What if the Government is trying their best to deal with the energy crisis in Egypt now? What if the teachers are coming to University and teaching as they’ve been taught? What if your wife just needs a recipe to follow to make the meat taste good?
In an interview with Al-Ahram newspaper on October 10, Egyptian actor Yehia Fakharani said that art may be Haram or Halal according ot the aim of it like a knife that cut and kill. I wonder how come a great actor like him who has been working for 30 years can’t judge art except through the religious concepts of Halal and Haram which can be easily manipulated by the fanatics who may prohibit it completely.
I can't understand men anymore. I've tried really hard, but I failed. He was so sad smoking his cigarette. "What's wrong with you?" I asked a friend. I had a fight with my wife, He said. I wondered: So what? She doesn't understand me? She's stupid and somber. Well, what happened? I regret I married her. I should have married my girlfriend, but she was too crazy for me also. She had too many friends and traveled a lot. Yet, my current wife is stupid and I don't even feel love her anymore. What did she do?
If two people tell the same story in different ways, we usually believe those who have more credibility. Last week, journalist at Al Jazirah published accusations to the police in Masry al-Youm newspaper. Yet, he had more credibility than the police. Many people testified that he doesn’t belong to the Muslim Brotherhood and is not a liar. When police lie and fabricate many charges for innocent people, we should feel sorry. Of course, they were right few times, but in fact, they’re losing credibility. A journalist had written an article about police demolishing
The Copts have not yet fallen in the trap of the Muslim Brotherhood. I say this in the third anniversary of Maspero massacre when 24 young Egyptian people have been killed by the armored vehicles of their own country. Those Copts were demonstrating against burning the church of Marinab in Atfih.
An old movie of golden era in the movie industry called “Cairo 30” was rebroadcast recently, Cairo 30 means Social and political life in Cairo on 1930 that is 16 years short of a century ago! Obviously at 1930 the 1919 revolution was already over but from the dialogue of the casting crew you note a general dismay specially from the youth or undergraduates of universities or high schools! They criticised corruption in palace by the royals, parliament by parties and politicians, all feared the influence of the British occupying forces and authorities that used to dictate policies for the King to follow, Change the ministry cabinet if its head was anti-occupation or non friendly to the British forces and excites the people against them!
I’ve been reading alot of articles, and I mean alot, condemning the Government's’ action towards protestors. Amnesty International, especially, among others are throwing Sisi completely under the bus and saying that Egypt has to change and is falling back into old patterns, and should allow democracy as in all other countries in the West. Sisi made a speech, and they were disappointed. Sisi arrested protestors, and they were disappointed.
News media has converted people into animals who live in a circus. The poor animals are moved by their trainer to see and do whatever he or she wants. In fact, people have no choice anymore to pick up the news they want as they have to consume whatever presented by news media. However, have you ever thought about whom makes a decision to concentrate on or even ignore certain story or news? Indeed, it’s either authority or money.
It’s known that police is entrusted to achieve security and prevent bullying. Police should present this service to all citizens without discrimination. Yet, in Egypt the police decided to compete with the thugs to assault and rob the Copts. This happened in Jabal al-Tir village in Minya.
The parliamentary elections at hand, but how can we prevent the Islamists from dominating this parliament? How can we prevent those who have no royalty to Egypt or respect to its flag and national anthem? They indeed fooled us once. Yet the idiom says: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. The history of the Muslim Brotherhood since its very beginning in 1928 is full of violence and blood, and so does many other Islamic groups.
I’ve waited for a while before revealing the bitter truth concerning the lady of Jabal al-Tair. Many people have ignited the fire including those who claim to be Coptic activists or even few Muslims. There are three parties involved in the story: The woman and her family, Ministry of Interior and Al-Azhar, and the promoters and beneficiaries of the story. The question is: Why did this case was magnified? It’s clear that a forty years old woman and a mother of five children and not so beautiful is not likely to be kidnapped. This always happen to Coptic minor girls who are kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam before they get married to Muslim men in order to make sure they can’t go back!
Long time ago in the Faculty of Sciences I was told “Each Problem has a SOLUTION”, as my speciality was Mathematics, I knew to get my Muster Degree, and later on my Ph. D. I had to solve an unsolved problem, meaning it was very depressing for me as a student to think I had to solve a problem my teachers who definitely know way more than what I know did not solve!
Before, during, and after Sisi’s visit to New York, all media outlets were talking about nothing except this visit. I can understand supporting your president but I can’t understand the media being crazy about everything related to this one visit.
Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at establishing, and defending equal political, economic, cultural, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women.
Another sectarian incident took place at Jabal al-Tair with the disappearance of Coptic Lady, a mother of five sons who was kidnapped by a Muslim partner of her husband. Yet, the reaction of the police was really harsh towards the Copts, especially after the revolution of June 30 in which they participated and suffered.
It’s wonderful that the Muslim Brotherhood realizes Al-Sisi when he visits America, is moving to play on their playground. America and Britain are very stupid if they think they will be safe by supporting the Muslim Brotherhood as it’s the source of all terrorist organization.
